On December 8th, the China Industrial Anti Corrosion Technology Association held a press conference in Beijing. At the meeting, it was announced that the three international standards, ISO23123 "General Requirements for the Whole Life Cycle of Corrosion Control Engineering", ISO23222 "Risk Assessment for the Whole Life Cycle of Corrosion Control Engineering", and ISO23221 "General Requirements for the Whole Life Cycle of Pipeline Corrosion Control Engineering", which were led and led by China, were approved by a vote of 164 member countries of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) on November 3 and have been officially published worldwide.

The three international standards for the full life cycle of corrosion control engineering are all independently developed and proposed by China, aiming to ensure that existing scientific and technological achievements and standards related to corrosion protection can fully play their due or better effects, fundamentally proactively solve corrosion problems, and comprehensively prevent the occurrence of major accidents such as safety, environment, and resources caused by corrosion. Ren Zhenduo, Honorary President of the China Industrial Anti Corrosion Technology Association and Resident Leader of the International ISO156/TC/SC1 Chinese Expert Group, believes that although China has achieved the leading international position in the full life cycle standard of corrosion control engineering and achieved "overtaking on the bend", as the host country of the Secretariat of the International Technical Committee for Standardization of the Full Life Cycle of Corrosion Control Engineering, China has only just entered the high-end of the global value chain.

At present, the China Industrial Anti Corrosion Technology Association has formulated a three-step "30-year plan", which is in line with national strategic goals such as the "14th Five Year Plan", "2035 Vision Goal", and "2049 Second Centenary Goal". "The core and dominant standards for the entire lifecycle of corrosion control engineering should be listed as mandatory standards, and relevant legislation should be implemented to promote safe and green production," Ren Zhenduo said.
